The Cranky Molluscs are Karina Inkster and Heidi Braacx, an acoustic, instrumental world-folk duo. They're from Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, and have been friends since elementary school. Karina and Heidi discovered the film Amélie in 2002, and have been obsessed with the soundtrack by Yann Tiersen ever since.
Both musicians from a young age, they hadn't played together until 2014, when they started to learn a few songs by Yann Tiersen. Soon after, The Cranky Molluscs began! Since then, they've added other music to their repertoire, like Tango, which lends itself wonderfully to the accordion/violin combination.
Karina and Heidi describe themselves as amateurs in the best sense of the word: lovers of music!
"This music makes me realize that life can be sad, but also beautiful."

"I can listen to them play the same thing over and over. It's a different feast every time!"
- Setareh Bateni
